The One Big Thing I Did in My Second Year of Business

I have this weekly ritual I complete every Friday where I type into my Google Calendar the “ONE BIG THING” I did that week.

This is my weekly chance to reflect on what I focused on, what I accomplished, and what God had planned for me regardless of what I did. 

As the A-Student-Over-Achiever that I am, this is a great ego boost.

And sometimes, something BIG happened on Tuesday and I’ve already moved on and forgotten to celebrate it by Friday. I often have to go into my calendar to remember what actually went down.

Again, as the A-Student-Over-Achiever that I am, this gives me reason to pause, reflect, and give myself credit for things I wouldn’t have naturally given myself credit for.

And today, I’d like to share with you my ONE BIG THINGs from my second year in business. 

This is NOT a record of things I want to brag about. It’s a record of REAL LIFE as an entrepreneur. If you get to the end of this list feeling like you’ve accomplished “nothing” this year, I can assure you you’re wrong. You simply need a system to document all the crazy cool things you’re doing and being.

For the record, it’s totally overwhelming to review my year like this. And so good. Highly recommend starting a practice like this.

The one thing that stands out to me about this past year and all that has happened is that a lot of the “work” and “progress” that was made didn’t look like “work” or feel like “progress.” It felt like being vulnerable, opening myself up to others’ perspectives, getting feedback, working with a counselor on my emotions and my body – not my business. And at the end of the day, that was the stuff that moved the needle forward and made this year incredibly powerful. 

And next week, I’ll share WHAT’S NEXT for my business!
